NEW/NOUVEAU !! Welcome to Tríona and Niall's house
Hi. My name is Tríona. I live in a small village in Co. Cavan, the drumlin county where they say there is a lake for every day of the year.
It is a beautiful rural setting but just minutes from the main town with shops, restaurants, swimming pool, and cinema and 90 minutes from Dublin.
Myself and Niall have two sons, Cillian and Tadhg. Cillian has finished college and Tadhg is in his 1st year of college. I teach English to children and adults ages 4 to 80s :)
The men are rugby mad! Though Tadhg is mad about magic the gathering, dungeons and dragons and computer games.
Hi
We are an easy going, rugby mad, close family. I teach English to adults and children.
I am happy to try to have whatever you like for breakfast, typically around 9 am. Followed by an English lesson. We often have a 'full Irish' on a Saturday or Sunday. I also cater for vegetarian or vegan diets. There are plenty of beautiful walks very close to the house. The Annalee river runs through the village and Ballyhaise agricultural college is a five-minute walk away from the house with beautiful woodland walks and lots of animals. Local activities like cavanadventure.ie where you can moor at tiny castle island in the middle of Loughoughter where you'll find the remains of Coughoughter castle. There are small shops and amenities across the road as well as the GAA sports grounds which we have access to. This is perfect for walking and running. We are situated a few minutes' drive from Cavan's sports complex with a large gym and swimming pool which students can use for an unlimited time for only €5. Niall is up at the rugby club several times a week, there are regular matches and it is often on the TV, you may be prepared for some very loud 'encouragement' if Ireland are playing! LOL. The Gaelic football or hurling are often on too. Meal times are relaxed, lots of veggies, soups, salads, brown bread, Irish stew, casseroles, and roasts, and chats. We enjoy plenty of BBQs during the summer. I have family that live nearby and we often meet up for BBQs. My brother plays traditional Irish music at least once a week in Gartlans thatched pub in kingscourt Co. Cavan where my mother lives next door to dun a rí forest park where we often go for walks. Cabra castle is just across the road. For shopping Navan or Enniskillen have a large variety of shops to choose from, with boat trips available also. Dublin City is approximately 1.5 hours away with a huge variety of attractions, from Croke park, Trinity college (displaying the 'Book of Kells'), the Guinness tour and more. We have an extensive selection of books and a sunroom out the back where you can relax and enjoy your own space. We live in a small estate. Killykeen park is minutes away with kayaking available which we often use in the summer months. http://coillte.ie/ http://cuilcaghlakelands.org/ stretches from Lough erne Co Fermanagh all the way into Cavan making it one of the only four transnational geoparks in the world and is only a short drive away. You will have your pick of historical and geological sites such as the wedge tombs in the Cavan burren. http://theboardwalk.ie/
